THE ISOLATION
ROOM
The isolation ward is a
special room with its own separate heating and ventilation.
This ward is where pets are hospitalized that have been diagnosed
with a contagious disease. This allows very close monitoring
without exposing other non-contagious ill patients in our other
medical ward.
Isolation hospitalization
is more costly because it is so labor intensive. It includes
doctors daily examination, daily nursing care, disposal of
hazardous waste, daily temperature/pulse/respiration monitoring,
cleaning and sterilizing the cage, independent heating and
ventilation, and the technicians must wear disposable latex gloves
and surgical mask and disinfect their hands and shoes.
