TELEMEDICINE TELEPORTATION

This state of the art machine can teleport your pet's x-rays and/or ultrasound images to different Universities in the United States for a consultation.  The image is transferred through the modem from our equipment to the University/and or specialist where he/she will consult with us within 24 hours on your pet's problem.  Other clinics that don't provide this service would have to send your pet's films via mail and can take days-weeks to consult with a specialist.

CLIENT EDUCATION

We feel client education is an important backbone in veterinary medicine.  We have a large resource of information for our clients.  In every exam room, there is a TV with VCR.  This allows us to provide videos for our clients on numerous subjects they may have questions on and/or better understand their pet's medical condition.  We provide handouts as well on numerous subjects.

We also have an Client Education Library on our web site.

MEDICAL BOARDING SERVICES

While  Animal Medical Center does not offer a routine boarding service, we do offer a medical boarding service.  If your pet needs medical attention or monitoring while you are away from home, we will be happy to provide care for your pet in your absence.  This service is availble Mondays through Fridays.  Please call for more information on this special service.

BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS

If you are experiencing pet behavioral problems, the sooner you contact us for a behavioral consultation, the faster and easier most behavioral problems can be solved.

For more challenging, especially aggressive, cases, we can refer you and your pet to a doctor who specializes in behavioral problems.  She has saved many pets from eithanasia- the most common cause of death of pets in the United States.

THERAPEUTIC LASER

1.Improve the quality of Your Pet's Life

Your pet can suffer pain and disalbility.  With therapeutic laser, your companion pet can receiveand treatments enabling them to have a longer and happier life.  It is unfortunate that some pets, even with the advancements in veterinary surgery and medicine, nerver return to their pre-injury or pre-surgical state of life. It is also sad thgat many of our elderly pets live their last few years in such pain that they have little desire to go on walks, play or be the companion that we desire.

2.What is laser therapy?

Photobiomodulatiion is the scientific term for the therapeutic laser's effect on tissue.  Deep-penetrating photons from the laser influence cell chemistry in a variety of beneficial ways.  Treatment time, power and laser  pulse frequencey are based on your pet's individual condition and body size.  After surgery, patients receiving laser therapy  haave less pain.  Their recovery is faster, wiht fewer complications.

3.What Can you expect?

There is no patient sedation or restraint required and the experience is pleasant and comforting to the animal.  Most pets do not need to have their hair clipped.  Many pets will be relieved of their pain immediately following treatment.

4.Is your pet in pain?

Here are some ways to tell if your pet is in pain.

Your pet bends one leg when standing

-when standing on all feet, one paw smaller than the other

    -An unusual head position

-One hip is higher than the other while standing

-Feel down the spinegently and find "hot spots" when the animal flinches

The therapeutic laser is emerging as the new high-tech device of choice to treat a wide variety of aches and pains, injuries, and diseases.  The excting news is that it is not simply alternative medicine; but high-tech medicine destined to play a major role in both human and veterinary care.  Used by physicians in Europe for over thirty years, it has recently gained approval by the FDA for certain human applications, and both physicians and veterinarians throughout the United  States are beginning to embrace this extraordinary technology.

Laser therapy for disc disorders is also a possible alternative to surgery or steroids.
